Chattahoochee Tech small forward Tiayra Green was named GCAA women’s All-Second Team over the weekend, earning the honor after a season in which she led the Lady Golden Eagles to a conference tournament berth in the program’s first NJCAA season.
Green, a 5-foot-10 sophomore from Riverdale, Ga. (Riverdale H.S.), added another honor to a fantastic season in which she finished second in the GCAA – and 16th nationally – in scoring at 18.7 points per game. She also averaged 5.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.9 steals per game while shooting 42 percent from the field and 71 percent from the free-throw line.
Green was recognized by the conference during the regular season when she was named Player of the Week in early February.
Green joins men’s players Asauhn Dixon-Tatum (second team, Defensive Player of the Year) and Sean Tate (honorable mention) in earning all-GCAA basketball honors this season. The women’s team, coached by Guy Coleman, finished 13-16, 6-12 in league play in its inaugural season.
