MARIETTA—Chattahoochee Tech women’s basketball standout Tiayra Green signed a scholarship with NCAA Division II Wingate University. Green, a 6-foot guard/forward who spent her sophomore season with CTC, will have two years of eligibility remaining for the Lady Bulldogs.

Green averaged 18.7 points per game this season for Guy Coleman’s squad, second in the GCAA and 14th in NJCAA Division I. She also averaged 5.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.9 steals per game while shooting 42 percent from the field and 71 percent from the free-throw line. She was named to the GCAA Second Team after this season and was honored as GCAA Player of the Week for Week 14.

Green came to CTC as a sophomore after one year at NCAA Division I Tulsa, a member of Conference USA. She played her high school basketball at Riverdale High School in Riverdale, Ga., earning Class AAAAA all-state honors as a senior after averaging 26 points per game.

Green helped the Lady Golden Eagles earn a GCAA tournament berth in the program’s first season as an NJCAA member. Wingate, located in Wingate, N.C. and coached by Barbara Nelson, plays in the South Atlantic Conference and made it to the D-II Southeast Regional finals last season, finishing with a 24-8 record.
