MARIETTA – Four Chattahoochee Tech men's basketball players have been selected to play in two Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association All-Star games in April. Ben Drake, Malik Jordan and Keith Ray will play in the league's Sophomore Game, and Jamion Simpson will play in the Freshman Game. The games will be played on April 15 at Central Georgia Tech in Macon, with the freshmen playing at 2 p.m. and the sophomores following at 4 p.m. The rosters were selected by the league's nine coaches.

"They are all very deserving of being announced to the all-star teams," said Chattahoochee Tech head coach David Archer. "Jamion and Keith had very consistent seasons for us and were both essential to our success. Malik and Ben were both under the radar a bit. But obviously the others in our league recognized their value, and it is a great way for them to close out their JuCo basketball careers."

Simpson will play in the Freshman Game after getting named conference Freshman of the Year, All-GCAA first team and All-GCAA freshman team earlier this month. The 6-foot guard out of Action Sports Academy in Stone Mountain (native of Bridgeport, Connecticut) was second in the conference after the regular season in scoring at 17.6 points per game while averaging 4.9 rebounds per game, 3.9 assists per game (7th) and 2.7 steals per game (2nd). He shot 46.5 percent from the floor, 34.6 percent from three and 65.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Ray, a 6-5 small forward from Hillgrove, was named honorable mention All-GCAA after finishing ninth in the conference in scoring at 14.2 points per game to go with 5.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He shot 44.5 percent from the floor, 31.6 percent from three and 66.7 percent from the line.

Jordan, a 6-foot guard from Potter's House Academy in Jacksonville, Florida, averaged 13.8 points per game (11th), 4.7 assists per game (4th), 4.2 rebounds per game and 2.3 steals per game (5th) while shooting 32.8 percent from three and 71.4 percent from the stripe (8th).

Drake, a 6-8 power forward from Harrison, averaged 5.8 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game (12th) to go with .8 blocks per contest (11th). He also hit 14 of 31 three-pointers for 45.2 percent, missing a GCAA ranking in that stat due to number of attempts.

Drake also was named to the All-GCAA academic team by maintaining a 3.0 or higher GPA.

"All of these young men have represented Chattahoochee Tech very well," Archer said.

The four All-Star coaches serve as assistants for their respective teams. For the sophomores, Ray and Jordan, coached by Chris Ballauer of South Georgia Tech, are slated to square off against Drake, coached by J.J. Merritt of conference champion Georgia Highlands. Justin Wilcox of Albany Tech will coach Simpson against D.J. Hardy of South Georgia State in the frosh game.

CTC's four all-stars helped the Golden Eagles to a 21-10 overall record and 9-7 mark in the GCAA in the program's final season of competition.
