Smyrna, GA - Behind Aysia Grimsley's 35 points, the Lady Eagles were finally able to collect their first victory of the season, 76-58, over Southern Crescent Tech.
The Lady Eagles, 0-15 coming into the game, jumped out early and established control over SCTC. Diamond White and Fernanda Silva got the scoring started initially for the CTC ladies, as they each got driving buckets and a three pointer apiece. The Lady Eagles were able to build a 37-28 spread by halftime.
In the second half, Grimsley got heated up, as she hit back to back threes and repeatedly got to the freethrow line, where she connetected on 11 of 12 shots. The CTC women were able to hold off a late run by SCTC, then pull away late for the win.
Grimsley finished with 35, while Silva and White had 16 and 15 points, respectively. Rovianie Bellier each had four, while Tamia Jackson tallied two points and nine rebounds. Bellier and Ndoye also contributed by grabbing 14 and 10 rebounds, respectively, in the game.
The Lady Eagles will now go on the road to face Georgia Highlands on Monday evening in Rome. Tipoff is set for 5:30pm.
