CTC Women Hold Off Albany Tech 54-45

Emerson, Ga.–The Chattahoochee Tech women were clutch down the stretch to hold on for a 54-45 GCAA win at LakePoint on Monday night.
The Lady Golden Eagles (17-5, 2-4) extended a 25-22 halftime lead to their biggest advantage, 45-33, in the fourth quarter, overcoming a night in which the team shot just 21-of-75 (28%) from the field. CTC played outstanding defense, however, and held Albany Tech to 22 percent shooting on just 13 field goals in 59 attempts and forced 24 Lady Titans turnovers.

Mariya Trimble had 17 rebounds, just one off her career high, including seven offensive boards. She scored 16 points on 7-of-16 shooting, 1-of-2 from three, and had two steals. Janelly Plummer matched Trimble for the game high in points with 16 and had five rebounds and seven steals.

Tymeshia Dozier added eight points and three assists and was 3-of-4 from the free-throw line, with all of her shots from the charity stripe coming in the final minutes to help keep Albany Tech at arm's length, and Jaida Oladeji pulled down 11 rebounds. Skylar Rossi scored six points.

Both CTC teams play at Central Georgia Tech in Macon this Wednesday night, with the women tipping at 5:30 p.m.
