Central Georgia Tech tags loss on CTC men

Smyrna, GA - Central Georgia Tech was not a cordial visitor to the Smyrna Community Center, as they came in and took advantage of a slow start by the Golden Eagles, and went home with an 88-80 victory.

Central Georgia got off to a hot shooting start, knocking down several early long range three pointers, as the Eagles struggled to get cranked up. Making matters worse, was early foul trouble for Zach Landis, who would up having to sit about 17 minutes of the first half. Central Georgia had built a 47-39 lead by the half. A lead that increased to as much at 14 during the second half, before the home team finally decided to wake up and compete. A full court defensive press, helped trigger a run that saw the Eagles race back to cut the lead in the final minutes. During the run, Elijah Robinson, AJ Mosby and Malcolm Hannah all hit multiple threes, which helped CTC trim the CGTC cushion to three with only 2:30 remaining.

However, several ill-timed turnovers thwarted the Eagle run and Central was able to hang on in the waning seconds, by connecting calmly at the free throw line.

Robinson finished with 24 points on 8 of 11 shooting for the Eagles, followed Mosby with 21 and Hannah with 13. Hannah also dished out seven assists on the evening.
