Transfer Jasmine Davis is a testament of perseverance

Jasmine Davis who transferred to Chatt Tech for her sophomore season is a true testament to perseverance.

She originally signed with Motlow State Community College in Tullahoma, Tenn., before receiving her diploma from Morgan County High School in May. Five months later, she was unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer and had to put her dream of playing college basketball on hold. She actually told, at one point, she would never be able to play the game again.

Davis was a big part of the Morgan County Lady Dogs run to the Elite Eight during her senior season in 2010-11, providing solid inside play in a reserve role on a talented and balanced squad.

After a difficult battle with chemotherapy, loss of her hair, and unbelievable support from her family, friends and community, Davis signed a basketball scholarship to play at Cleveland State Community College in Tennessee, where she played her freshman season.

Needing a change of pace, Davis comes to Chatt Tech, for her second season of junior college basketball, with the hopes of helping the Lady Eagles maintain the success of the 25-8 season in 2013-14.

Davis and the Lady Eagles will tip off the season on November 1st at 5:30pm at home against the Summer Hill post grad team. The game will be played at the Smyrna Community Center in Smyrna, Georgia.
