CTC men pick up 82-57 road win at West Georgia Tech

Carrollton - The CTC Golden Eagles were able to pull away for an 82-57 road win over an always tough West Georgia Tech squad at Oak Mountain Academy in Carrollton.

The Eagles started slow, but built a double-digit lead during the first half behind the early scoring of AJ Mosby and Ryan Davis. But, the Knights fought back behind Dominique Lindsey's quick drives to the basket. Lindsey would prove to be a thorn in the Eagle's side all night! Another spurt by the Eagles help the visitors take a 39-27 lead into the half.

In the second half, a concerted defensive effort allowed the CTC men to slowly build through transition buckets and solid offensive execution. During the run, Nkem Ojeh began providing some value on both ends with athletic offensive moves, along with several strong rebounds and block shots. Jordan Oliver also provided a number of definitive hustle plays, which resulted in baskets for the Eagles.

Lindsey would finish with 18 for WGTC, while Adrian Tolbert fought his way to 14 points.

For CTC, Mosby finished with 18, while Oliver hustled his way to 15. Keith Ray also finished with 10, while Ojeh got all nine of his in the second half, to compliment the eight Davis had. Davis and Corey Tobin combined for nine assists in the game, while Ray completed the double-double by also snatching 10 boards on the night.

The Golden Eagles, now 2-0 on the season, take to the road again on Wednesday at Southern Crescent, for the second game of the double-header in Griffin. Tipoff is set for 7:30pm.
