CTC women improve to 9-1, after 89-50 drubbing of Summer Hill

Cartersville, GA - The Chattahoochee Tech Lady Eagles claim the 2016 Summer Hill Cup, with an 89-50 win over the host Summer Hill Lady Devils on Sunday afternoon.

The CTC women blew out to a 55-24 lead at the half behind very balanced scoring. It was the usual scoring suspects, with Tymeshia Dozier, Mariya Trimble and Janelly Plummer combining for 37 of those first half points. But, others got in the act as well, as Sydney Mathis and Skylar Rossi contributed.

For the second night in a row, the second half was more management, than anything else, as the big lead afforded Coach Tony Ingle the ability to rotate and rest, in efforts to save legs for the last game of the three game, three day stretch.

Dozier got back to her scoring ways scoring 23 points, many of those coming on the five treys she drained, while Trimble finished with 20. Mathis had 15 and Skylar Rossi, with her 12 points, eclipsed the double-figure mark for the second consecutive game. Rossi, who had knee surgery during the off season, was cleared to compete just before the season started, is showing sign that she is gaining confidence.

The Lady Eagles (9-1) will now head on the road again on Monday night when they play Toccoa Falls College.
