Cartersville, GA - The CTC women raced out to a 20-8 lead after one period and never looked back, as they defeated BaselineUSA 79-44 on Saturday night at the Summer Hill Complex.
With Tymeshia Dozier not having her usual offensive production, Janelly Plummer and Mariya Trimble were able to pick up and fuel things. The Lady Eagles generated a 36-22 lead by the halftime, then blue the game open in the third period, with a 28-point explosion.
Leading 66-28 heading into the final stanza, Head Coach Tony Ingle took the foot off the gas, to save energy for the upcoming games, as this was the first of three games in as many nights for his troops.
Plummer finished with 24, as Trimble got 20 points and 16 rebounds. Skylar Rossi reached double-figures for the first time this season with 11 points and Jaida Oladeji tallied three points and 11 boards on the night.
The CTC women, now 8-1, will play Summer Hill at 4:00pm on Sunday in the finale of the Summer Hill Cup, before heading on the road again to Toccoa Fall College on Monday evening.
