Eagles fly past Southern Crescent, 90-54

Griffin, GA - Nov. 14, 2014 - The Eagles jumped out quickly on the road at Southern Crescent, relaxed, then adjusted defensively to cruise to a 90-54 win.

Up 12-2 in the early going, the first wave of reserves off the bench gave away some intensity and allowed SCTC get free for some easy baskets, trimming the Eagle spread down to 27-21. But, the next wave of subsititions led by Malcolm Hannah, Dimychael Ross, Xavier Allen and Kyle Wright, regenerated and went on an 18-3 run to close the half with CTC up 45-24.

Further halftime defensive adjustments neutralized the SCTC dribble drive, forcing perimeter misses, which ignited the Golden Eagles transition offense 22-2 run. AJ Mosby and Elijah Robinson combined for 14 of those points. The Eagles largest lead came at 70-30, as Southern Crescent was never able to mount a meaningful run the rest of the way.

Richelieu Hayes paced SCTC with 10 points, while Jameele Lanier and Cedric Woodson each had eight.

For CTC, Hannah led the way with 17 points, while Mosby had 14 and Allen 11. Robinson and Ross each contributed eight, while Wright finished with six. The Eagles shot 79% from the free throw line while making 19-24.

Next on tap for the Eagles is Chattanooga State, who will be coming town town on Monday evening. Tip off is set for 7:30pm at the Smyrna Community Center.
