Cartersville, GA – Nov. 9, 2014 – After suffering an embarrassing defeat on the road at West Georgia on Friday night, the Chatt Tech Lady Eagles bounced back with a solid 75-54 win over Summer Hill on Sunday at the JH Morgan Gymnasium.
Janelly Plummer paced a much more efficient offense for the Lady Eagles from the opening tip, and the CTC women took a comfortable 36-21 lead into the break.
Though Summer Hill scored a better pace in the second half, the Lady Devils could never mount a serious comeback attempt, as Asha Abdur-Rahim and Darlecia Bonds both collected key buckets down the stretch, to go along with Plummer's consistent scoring attack.
Kiarra Parks and Randi Ellis led Summer Hill with 14 and 10, respectively, while Brittany Moore and Charron Woodley each scored nine.
For the Lady Eagles, Plummer downed 27 points, on 12-20 shooting from the field. Abdur Rahim had 16, Bonds 12, while Aujaia Cox got 11 points and pulled 15 rebounds. Alexia Johnson also scored a career high nine points for the CTC women, who moved to 1-1 on the young season.
The Lady Eagles will now go on the road Friday evening to face off with Southern Crescent Tech in Griffin, GA. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30pm
