Cartersville, GA – Nov. 9, 2014 – The Chattahoochee Tech men hosted the Summer Hill Blue Devils at JH Morgan Gymnasium, picking up win number three, with a 106-73 victory.
After getting out to a strong start, leading by as much as 18-6 in the early going, a sluggish CTC reserve unit let the Blue Devils cut the score to 33-29 midway through the first half. Kevane Washington did a great deal of that damage for Summer Hill as he scored 16 in the first half alone. The Golden Eagles revamped and went on a strong run to close the half with a 55-39 lead.
The second half resembled the first, with Summer Hill playing surprisingly well, but not able to muster enough fire power to stop the Eagles. With the game in hand, CTC spread the playing time, looking for balanced efforts.
Washington led all scorers with 25 points, on 9-15 shooting for the day. Zeke Reed also contributed 15 points, while Latriz Thompson hustled his way to nine. Laterry Hardy also collected seven points.
For CTC, Dimychael Ross led a balanced attack with 19 points, while Carl Washington and Xavier Allen each had 13, Zach Landis 11. AJ Mosby and Jay Shorts had 10 each, as the Golden Eagles shot 52% (35-69) from the floor on the evening, and 79% from the free throw line (27-34).
The Eagles, now 3-0, will go on the road to Griffin, GA on Friday night to take on Southern Crescent Tech.
