Lady Eagles' strong second half not enough to beat GPC Lady Jags

SMYRNA – The Chattahoochee Tech fell behind early on Monday night before battling valiantly in an 81-67 loss to the Georgia Perimeter Lady Jaguars in the first game of the doubleheader at the Smyrna Community Center.

The women's team fell behind early to Georgia Perimeter, with a 51-23 halftime deficit, but fought back and threatened to make it a single-digit difference in the second half of its 14-point loss. Courtney Street led the Lady Golden Eagles with 14 points, while Bri Tiggs and Rose Robinson had 11 and 10, respectively. Kabrenna Smith also scored nine in the losing effort, which dropped the team to 2-5 and 0-4 in conference play.

The teams hit the road Wednesday for a conference battle at Central Georgia Tech, then return to the John H. Morgan Gym in Cartersville for home, non-conference games against Division III West Georgia Tech on Friday with the women tipping off at 5:30 and the men following.
