Smyrna, GA - The Eagles chalk up another strong second half effort to pull away from visiting Atlanta Metro for an 89-72 conference win.
After falling behind by as many as 10 in the first half, the Eagles trimmed their deficit down to four by halftime, going into the intermission down 42-38. In the opening moments of the second half, the Trailblazers pushed it back to double-digits momentarily. However, AJ Mosby answered quickly with a three, triggering a definitive offensive run that saw the Eagles mount their own double digit lead - a lead the Trailblazers never fully threatened down the stretch. Mosby connected on several more long range shots down the stretch, with Xavier Allen and Malcolm Hannah getting in on the perimeter shooting with treys of their own.
The Eagles downed a total of 10 threes on the night, and also shot 75% from the freethrow line to keep Metro from making any serious run.
Mosby finished with a season-high 26, while Allen had 16 and Zach Landis nine. Hannah and Elijah Robinson each had eight, Trevin Steede seven and Dimychael Ross and Joe Howard six apiece.
Lady Eagles Notes: The Lady Trailblazers ran away from the Lady Eagles early and cruised to a 74-25 win. Darlecia Bonds led the Lady Eagles with 14, while Deidra Morris contributed nine.
