Smyrna, GA - Sometimes it's simply about the love of the game - and keeping a commitment. The CTC Lady Eagles finally got back to action on Sunday afternoon against Georgia Highlands, after having to cancel the first few games of the Spring Semester, due to a depleted roster.
Since the beginning of the 2014-2015 season, the Lady Eagles have suffered an unusual and alarming number of injuries and other circumstances which have caused players to have to leave the team. The team had to wait for two of those who remain to be cleared medically in order to resume play. With only five players able to play, the Lady Eagles stepped on the court to face a strong Georgia Perimeter squad.
The faithful five played valiantly, dropping an 81-25 decision. But, the score doesn't matter much. It's the effor that counts. The effort is the victory.
Darlecia Bonds led the Lady Eagles with 10 points on the day, followed by Aujaia Cox who tallied eight points and Deidra Morris who battled for seven points and nine rebounds.
