Eagles get out to big lead, sail to 88-70 victory at Middle Georgia

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. – The Chattahoochee Tech men's hoops squad took down Middle Georgia State on the road in a GCAA contest on Friday, 88-70. The Golden Eagles led 40-11 at one point in the first half, and the 40-17 at the break.

Alyja Hennings led the team with 24 points, nine rebounds, to go along with six steals and four assists, and Alijah Bennett scored 21 points. Center Markez Dix had a productive offensive game with 11 points and three rebounds, and Sherrod Wade and Amonte Potter also had seven boards apiece.

The Golden Eagles (22-5, 12-5 GCAA) held Middle Georgia State to a 25-of-81 shooting day, 30.9 percent. CTC's largest lead was at 40-11 late in the first half, a lead which was maintained much of the second half, until Middle Georgia made a late surge.

Both the men's and women's teams will play their final GCAA games on Saturday at the Smyrna Community Center, with the women tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and the men following at 7:30.
