WALESKA – The CTC women hosted Central Georgia Tech at Reinhardt College, inside the Brown Athletic Center on Sunday. After giving the Lady Titans all they had, the Lady Eagles eventually fell 72-55.
The CTC women fought to cut into a 36-20 deficit at halftime, cutting the Central Georgia Tech lead to as little as 11 when it was a 66-55 score with 2:35 remaining. Mendes's 22 points were a game-high, as she connected on three three-pointers and had four steals. Steara Mitchell scored 15 points and went 3-of-7 from three to go along with eight rebounds and six assists. Tiana Gray added eight points and 11 rebounds to lead the team on the boards.
The CTC men got a big 88-86 win over the the CGTC men.
The teams will next be in action in GCAA play when they travel to East Georgia this Wednesday with tip-offs at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. in Swainsboro. Before their Monday night games this week, the East Georgia men were 10-11 and 6-6 in conference, and the women were 8-14 and 4-10.
