Backcourt mate Alijah Bennett turned in a 27-point effort, his second-highest point total this season behind a 34-point performance in January.
Chattahoochee Tech trailed much of the game and 44-33 at the half, but rallied in the second half in a contest that saw 13 ties and 22 lead changes. The Golden Eagles caught up with Gordon (17-11, 7-11) at 59-59 with 12:52 to go in the second and held a two-point lead, 87-85, in the final seconds of regulation, but a Gordon tip-in sent it to overtime.
In the overtime period, the Golden Eagles got a three-pointer each from Potter, who also made a free throw, and Sherrod Wade, as well as two key free throws from forward Markez Dix.
Potter added seven assists, and Potter and Bennett, both freshmen from Sprayberry High School, made five three-pointers each and combined for a 24-of-38 shooting performance from the floor overall, including 10-of-20 from three. Bennett also led the team in assists with nine and steals with four, and Dix contributed defensively to lead the way with four blocks.
As a team, the Golden Eagles hit 16-of-36 three pointers for a 44.4 percent clip, which is a season high for both attempts and makes, and made 35-of-70 overall from the floor.
