WAYCROSS, Ga. – The Chattahoochee Tech men's basketball team outlasted South Georgia College in a 94-90 overtime victory on the road Wednesday night, snapping a two-game road losing streak. The Golden Eagles (21-5, 11-5 GCAA) still remain in sole possession of second place in conference with the important win.
Freshman point guard Amonte Potter, a former Sprayberry High School standout, scored a career-high 35 points, including two clutch free throws with 3.9 seconds remaining in the overtime period, in which he scored eight of the Golden Eagles' 14 points. Potter, who also contributed two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block, shot 11-of-19 from the floor overall, including 6-of-12 from three and 7-of-10 from the free-throw line. As a team, Chattahoochee Tech shot 50 percent from the floor overall at 34-of-68 and just under 50 percent for three at 14-of-30.

South Georgia led 39-37, but Potter went on a scoring tear over a three-minute period near the midpoint of the second half, pouring in 15 points for Chattahoochee Tech. Regulation ended at 80-80 after Hennings's baseline potential game-winning jumper at the buzzer rimmed out.
