CTC Lady Eagles set to open 2016-17 campaign

Cartersville, GA - Tony Ingle, Jr. leads his newly assembled Lady Eagles basketball team into battle on Wednesday evening against the Summer Hill Lady Blue Devils at Aubrey Street Gym.

Ingle, looking to bring back balance and respectability to the CTC women's program, will put a team on the floor that sees only one returner, Bineta Ndoye, from a roster which struggled all season. Gone is, Aysia Grimsley, who despite leading the nation in scoring (29.8) at all levels of women's basketball, could only help the Lady Eagles muster one victory. But, Ingle's new crew has a new attitude and approach to competitiveness, which has already shown up in pre-season jamboree scrimmages, where they faced off with seasoned programs, such as Daytona State, Indian River, Chattahoochee Valley, Hillsborough, Chattanooga State and Life University.

Mariya Trimble (5'7 G/F from Tucker), Jaida Oladeji (5'11 Center from Milton), Allayah Muhammed (5'8 SF, Mays HS) will provide scoring and rebounding for the Lady Eagles, while tranfer Tymeshia Dozier (5'3 PG WGTC) will serve a primary ballhandler. Back after a one-year layoff, Janelly Plummer will prove to be an athletic spark for the squad. Two seasons ago, Plummer suffered a season-ending injury after a nasty fall and subsequent head injury. She was averaging about 19ppg when her season was abruptly halted, but is back now and 100%.

The Lady Eagles will face off against a Summer Hill team, which it lost to early in the season last year. Tip off is set for 5:30.

Gym Address:
