Golden Eagles mount thrilling comeback to clip Gadsden 110-100

Gadsden - The Chattahoochee Tech men fought back from big deficit on the road to claim a 110-100 win over Gadsden State.

The Eagles jumped out to a quick 9-4 lead, before Gadsden evened things up. The lead changed hands for several minutes, when the well went dry for CTC. Gadsden took advantage and went on a scoring binge, draining a flurry of three pointers. With damage done, the CTC men headed into the locker room down 60-39.

Gadsden scored the first basket of the second half to push their lead to 24, but the Eagles found some energy through a swarming defensive press, which kick started a huge run that finally saw the game knot up at 84-all with about 9 minutes left to play. Tony Pruitt came off the bench to provide defense and some clutch scoring, which helped ignite more adrenaline. The press continued to force turnovers and easy baskets for the Eagles, as they took control of the game in the waning minutes.

Malik Jordan tallied 23 points, while Pruitt had 16. Jamion Simpson and Donald Jordan each had 15, Keith Ray 12, as Nkem Ojeh tallied 10 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks on the evening.
