Eagles run past young Martinique squad, 122-31

Emerson, GA - Eight players reached double-figures, as the Eagles ran past Martinique for a 122-31 win in its first official game at Lakepoint Sporting Community.

The two teams traded baskets the first couple of minutes of the contest, with Martinique actually holding a 4-2 lead early. CTC later led 18-10, but the young Martinique squad began having difficulty against the defensive press and their offensive efforts were stymied. From that point, Martinique was unable to score deep into the second half, meanwhile the Eagle lead grew to at much as 95-10 with about 11 minutes left in the contest.

But, the men from the French Antilles Islands continued to fight with integrity and broke the slump. The remainder of the contest they played at a respectable 27-21 difference, with a number of their points coming from the charity stripe.

Marie and Miris each had seven for Head Coach Stevie Souchette's Golden Star squad, as Malinier and Cordomy both tallied six.

For the now 2-0 Chatt Tech men, Philip Garner downed 18 points, while Jamion Simpson had 16, Keith Ray 13. Jalen Mitchell, Markel Williams and Dajon Fuller all collected 11, as Donald Jordan and Ben Drake garnered 10 apiece.

The CTC men will next host BaselineUSA at 5:00pm on Sunday at the Summer Hill Complex.
