Lady Eagles fight off Southern,Crescent for 70-62 win

Emerson, GA - The Lady Eagles defeated Southern Crescent 70-62 at Lakepoint Sporting Community on Friday evening. The win moved the CTC women to 5-0 to start a season for the first time in program history.

The home team led for much of the game, but the SCTC girls would not go away, traily only 33-31 at the half, and fighting back to knot the score at 52-all headed into the fourth quarter. However, Janelly Plummer and Tymeshia Dozier took over in the final stanza, to seal the win for the CTC girls, outscoring SCTC 18-10.

The win eclipsed the 4-0 season start in the 2012-13 campaign, which saw the Lady Eagles finish 25-8 and reach the finals of the NJCAA Region XVII/GCAA Tournament.

The Lady Eagles will now prepare to go on the road in hostile territory, as they travel to Gadsden State to take on the Lady Cardinals for their homecoming. Tip off is set for 5:30pm (CST).
