Lady Eagles fall on road at Gadsden State, 78-64

Gadsden, Ala. - The Lady Eagles seemingly ran out of gas in the second half and suffered their first defeat of the season, 78-64, on the road at Gadsden State on Monday night.

The CTC women played beautifully in the first half wiith an uptempo, pressing style defense, which created quick baskets to counter-act Gadsden's size advantage. CTC led by as many as eight in the fiirst half, before the Lady Cardinals got off a couple of long range bombs to clip into the lead heading into the intermisison. The Lady Eagles still held a 37-36 lead at the break.

To start the second half, Gadsden went back to their size and perimeter shooting to reclaim the lead. The Lady Eagles seemed to run out of gas and struggled to find the basket as frequently. Gadsden built a double-digit lead, which was in surmountable down the stretch.

Tymesha Dozier and Mariya Trimble each finished with 19 in the loss, as Janelly Plummer collected 12.
