Cartersville, GA - The Chatt Tech women improve to 3-0 to start a season for the first time in four years, after a strong 90-43 win over the BaselineUSA Lady Warriors.
The Lady Eagles raced to a 28-13 lead after one quarter, behind a quick start by Mariya Trimble and Janelly Plummer, who combined for 18 in the period. The second stanza got no better for the Lady Warriors, as CTC continued to build the lead, eventually taking a commanding 54-22 spread into the half.
Despite a tailing of offensive production from the CTC women in the second half, the outcome was essentially decided, as the Lady Eagles cruised the rest of the way.
Amber Bowen led Baseline with 15 points, whole Emma Almon had eight and Sandy Almon six.
Trimble finished with 18 for the Lady Eagles, while Plummer chalked up 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Tymeshia Dozier also downed 17 points, and Allayah Muhammed broke out of her slump to down 14 on four treys. Jaylah Carr also tallied nine, and Jaida Oladeji mustered only four points, but pulled 10 boards.
The Lady Eagles will now get set to go on the road on Wednesday evening, as they face off against long-time foe West Georgia Tech. Tip off is set for 5:30pm at Oak Mountan Academy - 222 Cross Plains Road, Carrollton, GA 30116.
