Golden Eagles receive votes for national poll

Marietta, GA - After winning both games last week and moving to 18-3 on the season, the Golden Eagles men's basketball team moved into the 'receiving votes' section of the NJCAA National Polls. With another solid performance this week, the Eagles could potentially return to the much coveted Top 25.

Eagles move to 18-3 on season, after 126-69 win over Summer Hill

CARTERSVILLE – Chattahoochee Tech men's hoops took care of the Summer Hill Prep program on Sunday night at the John H. Morgan gym in Cartersville, 126-69. Sophomore guard Alyja Hennings led the way for the Golden Eagles with 23 points against the post-grad squad, and five other CTC players reached double-figure scoring in the win.

MARIETTA – Freshman shooting guard Alijah Bennett was voted by the coaches of the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association as its Player of the Week for his play in Golden Eagles victories against Albany Tech, Gordon State College and Georgia Highlands College.

Rome, GA - The Lady Golden Eagles remain winless in conference play, falling to 2-14 and 0-11 in GCAA play with their 90-58 defeat to Georgia Highlands. Amber Mendes and Courtney Street both scored 15 points in the loss, and Street also led the team with eight boards.

ROME, Ga. – The Golden Eagles men's basketball team overpowered GCAA foe Georgia Highlands 85-72 on Saturday, pushing the Golden Eagles' overall record to 16-3, 8-3 in conference.

Another strong effort falls short for Lady Eagles on road at Albany Tech

ALBANY – The Lady Golden Eagles (2-13, 0-10) fell 60-50 at Albany Tech on Wednesday on the campus of Albany State University.

CTC men take double-overtime road win at Albany Tech, 83-78

ALBANY – The Golden Eagles men's hoops team got a valuable GCAA road win at Albany Tech on Wednesday, pulling out the 83-78 victory in double overtime. Chattahoochee Tech's Alyja Hennings scored seven points in the second overtime after the first extra period ended at 68-68.

SMYRNA – The women's team began the evening with a 68-61 loss to non-conference opponent Spartanburg Methodist College. In the nightcap, the CTC men got by conference foe Gordon State, 90-86.

Americus, GA - The Lady Eagles took the long trip down to face the Lady Jets of South Georgia Tech, currently the top ranked team in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA). The Lady Jets took advantage of a roster depleted CTC squad, racing to a commanding 87-37 win.

Americus, GA - With much riding on the line on the road against South Georgia Tech on Saturday, the Golden Eagles saw a strong start wilt in the second half, as the Jets came back from a double digit deficit and pulled away late to win 89-75, in a matchup between the two teams currently at the top of the GCAA standings.

Golden Eagles race past BC Howren, 117-78

CARTERSVILLE (Jan. 2nd, 2014) – The Chattahoochee Tech men's basketball team returned to action in the New Year with first of two games in the Summer Hill Classic in Cartersville, taking on B.C. Howren on Thursday evening and coming away with a 117-78 win.
