Eagles move to 18-3 on season, after 126-69 win over Summer Hill

CARTERSVILLE – Chattahoochee Tech men's hoops took care of the Summer Hill Prep program on Sunday night at the John H. Morgan gym in Cartersville, 126-69. Sophomore guard Alyja Hennings led the way for the Golden Eagles with 23 points against the post-grad squad, and five other CTC players reached double-figure scoring in the win.

The Golden Eagles led 57-33 at the half and expanded the lead quickly at the start of the second period. The Blue Devils made it interesting early as the two teams traded baskets to make it six-all, then went on a 7-0 run to pull out to a 13-6 lead, as they made six of their first seven shot attempts. Summer Hill regrouped and went on a 25-4 run to take control of the game.

Chattahoochee Tech (18-3) got 17 points apiece from Amonte Potter and Alijah Bennett, as well as 15 from Reggie Thompson and 13 each from Sherrod Wade and Joe Howard. Brandon Thompson and Darreontae Moore each had eight in the win for the Golden Eagles.

 The Golden Eagles men and women pick back up with GCAA play this Wednesday at Georgia Perimeter, with the women's game tipping off at 5:30 p.m. and the men following at 7:30. The men's squad currently sits alone in second place with an 8-3 conference mark.
