ALBANY – The Lady Golden Eagles (2-13, 0-10) fell 60-50 at Albany Tech on Wednesday on the campus of Albany State University.
The Lady Eagles rallied from a 29-15 halftime deficit and had several chances in the final minute to trim the Albany lead down to three. Near misses by the Lady Eagles, followed by desperation fouls helped the Lady Titans push the final spread back out to double-digits as the clock expired.
For the Lady Eagles, Tiana Gray scored 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Rose Robinson (16 points) and Amber Mendes (13 points) also reached double-figure scoring, and Courtney Street shared the rebounding lead with eight boards.
Ashley Towns and Tony Grier led Albany Tech with 12 points each.
Both teams will be in action this Saturday in another GCAA league game at Georgia Highlands in Rome, as the women tip off at 1 p.m. and the men follow at 3 p.m.
