CTC Men strong against Summer Hill in 126-65 win

Cartersville (January 3rd) - The Golden Eagles won their final game of the Summer Hill Classic over the host Summer Hill Blue Devils Post Grad, by an impressive 126-65 clip on Friday evening.

Mid-way through the first half, the Eagles' depth began to take a toll on the seemingly road-weary Blue Devils who had lost a 92-67 foot race the night before at South Georgia State. Alyja Hennings led the charge as CTC pushed into the intermission with a 57-31 spread. In the second half, the lead grew for the Eagles as the Devils increasingly struggled to score, while giving up transition baskets.

Two Golden Eagles net double-doubles as Hennings dropped a season-high 30 points while snatching 10 rebounds and Joe Howard turned in his best performance of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Amonte Potter contributed 17 points and five assists, while Alijah Bennett had 14 points and four assists. Delante Warner and Reggie Thompson both scored 11.

The Golden Eagles men and women were schedule to play on Monday, Jan. 6 with road games at GCAA Division III Southern Crescent but the game was postponed. The teams return to conference play at home on Wednesday, Jan. 8 as the women host Darton and the men host South Georgia State.
